ABOUT

Marie Johnston started her music journey with violin at seven years old and made the transition to cello at fourteen years old. At Western Washington University, she received her Bachelor's in Cultural Anthropology and studied a minor in music under the studio of Dr. John Friesen. There, Marie had opportunities to work with world-renowned cellists such as Lynn Harrell, Jussi Makkonen, and Efe Baltacıgil. Currently, she is continuing to explore her love of music by working with Seattle Music Partners over the last six years, where she has taught 4th-8th grade string orchestra.
